Summary:
The night before the great war of Mahabharata, Draupadi is in her camp at the war field of Kurukshetra reminiscing her days as the queen of Indraprastha when she received an odd invitation by the “Mahamaata” to join a discussion to prevent the war and formulate peace between the Kuru Brothers.
Will she be able to forget her revenge and forgive the Kauravs for their evil? Or will the death ride free in Kurukshetra?
Review:
Mahabharatee: Five women who held court before the war as the name suggests in based on the significant female figures who shaped the early hindu history (as depicted in the great Hindu epic ‘Mahabharata’). It can be described as a tale of true feminism, a tale of women exhibiting their strength while fulfilling their social role (as Queens, Mothers, Wives.)
The books is “plane-awesome“ it gets you intrigued from the very first page to the last one. The story tells the tale of the events that took place night before the commencement of the great war which will change the face Aryavarta forever. There is no mention of such meeting taking place in Mahabharata so the story can be assumed to be a fiction but the tale is completely based on the epic. The legends and events leading to the war are presented as flashbacks of the characters, which can confuse the reader if (s)he isn’t familiar with the epic.
How likely I’m to suggest this book: 4.3/5
